Iran, Before & After – Is America Next
We are living in difficult times; the biggest war in Europe since World War II. We have inflation, homelessness, drug dependency a rising, belligerent China. Then there is climate crisis that calls into question the future of our species. And now, artificial intelligence. With all these problems why are we discussing Iran? Because the parallels between recent Iranian history and recent U.S. history are undeniable. Today, books are banned in United States. Curriculums have changed and educators are fired in universities. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Women in America find themselves faced with wide-ranging attempts by religious zealots and other groups to wrest away their hard-won liberties.
War on Iranian women started in 1979 and now is moving to western countries.
Over 100 years ago, during 1920s, Iran’s parliament was born, and Iranian women became the most progressives in the world. Women were educated, became lawyers, doctors, judges, bankers. In 1979, those rights were taken away overnight by Islamic terrorist regime occupying Iran. Like any other dictatorship, to stay in power, you must silence 50% of the population – women become targets. Over the last 47 years, Iranian women have been fighting for their freedom.
In 2019, the Islamic terrorist regime killed 1,500 peaceful protesters on streets; the uprising went quiet. Today atrocities by the Islamic terrorist regime occupying Iran against peaceful protesters continue. The U.S. is not immune. The rollback of rights here echoes patterns that Iranian women have endured since 1979. What once seemed distant is now uncomfortably close.
